Fall 2026 Test Flights

Join us for the Fall 2026 Test Flights! These sessions offer instructors and students an opportunity to test their device within the online classroom. Sessions will be held on the date and times listed below. A link to the session will appear in Online@UT (Canvas) a few minutes before the start of each session.

  • August 13th, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm
  • August 18th, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm

Zoom Launches a New Look August 26th

Zoom is launching a new look for the web portal tennessee.zoom.us starting August 26th. Please keep in mind, your UT Zoom meetings and settings will still be available in the web, however, the look of the web interface will change. Here are a few tips to help you navigate the new look after it launches on August 26th.

  • Be sure to login to your UT Zoom account to access the UT Zoom web portal at tennessee.zoom.us.
  • Looking for your Zoom meetings in the web portal? Select the waffle icon on the top-right corner. After selecting the waffle icon, additional icons will appear, such as AI Companion and Meetings.

The Zoom AI Companion

Zoom’s AI Companion is now available in our main UT Zoom environment. Meeting leaders may enable the AI tools in their accounts at any time by following the instructions below. The Zoom AI Companion can summarize meeting topics for participants and add highlights and chapters to Zoom cloud recordings.

How to Engage Zoom AI Companion in your UT Zoom Account

  1. Please go to tennessee.zoom.us and select “Create or Log In.”
    • Use your UPN as your username: Your UPN is the email address used to sign in to UT services, such as email, typically in this format:
    • Password: Your NetID Password
  2. After logging in, select Settings on the menu on the left.
  3. Select the AI Companion heading at the top of the page.
  4. Toggle features to On as desired.

New Zoom Workplace App for Chromebooks

If you are a Chromebook user and engage Zoom, there’s a new app for your device. Zoom recommends downloading and installing their new Zoom for Chrome PWA application for use with Chromebooks. Select this link to install the Zoom for Chrome PWA application.

Keep Up-to-Date with Zoom Software Releases

Following Zoom’s Quarterly Software Lifecycle Policy means you get up-to-date security patches, enhanced features, and the best user experience. Please visit this page for the update schedule and list of changes.

To update the Zoom Workplace app:

  1. Log in to the Zoom Workplace desktop application.
  2. Select the profile image at the top-right of the application window (this could be your initials or a profile picture that you have uploaded).
  3. Choose the option to Check for Updates and follow the prompts on screen.
