Help for Technology-Enhanced  Classrooms

More than 300 classrooms across campus have accessible teaching technologies that include projectors, wireless presentation systems (like Cynap), and document cameras. Check out the classrooms site and then use the drop-down menu to search for your building and room number to find specific information for campus-hosted classrooms. We can also help you incorporate technology into your teaching style.

On classrooms.utk.edu, you can:

  • Search for your campus-hosted classroom and get individualized instructions for that room.
  • Get Technology Training resources on Cynap, Document Cameras, your classroom control panel, using Zoom in your classroom, and other technologies available to you.
  • See videos on using the hybrid model for teaching face-to-face and remote students at the same time using the classroom technology or teaching a live class and recording your lecture.
  • Get troubleshooting guides.
  • Much more.

Connecting Your Laptop to the Room System

You can connect your laptop directly to the room system using cable connectors such HDMI or VGA. When using Cynap, you can connect wirelessly through Wi-Fi using AirPlay (Mac) or Miracast (Windows) or using a wired HDMI or VGA connection. Connecting to Cynap allows you to use Zoom and Panopto for recording your class. Connecting directly to the room system allows you to only project to the screen in-class.
