UT Email for Students (Volmail)
Starting in November 2023, all new students are assigned Outlook accounts for email. Regardless of which service you use for email, you will have access to Microsoft 365 for Education and Google for Education.
Your UT e-mail account is an official means of communication that includes, but is not limited to, information and notices about financial obligations, student conduct, course schedules, canceled courses, financial aid, emails from the Chancellor, Provost, your professors, Online@UT (Canvas) communication, and OIT account and service information.
Students are responsible for activating, maintaining, and checking their university-supplied account for all official university communication sent to that account.
OIT advises using your UT email account exclusively for university-related matters.

Access to Volmail after you have left UT
Alumni will have one year after leaving the university to sign up for the alumni email service. OIT will send you information about your next steps once you leave the university, so be sure to keep an eye on your UT Email after you leave.
