GTA@OIT Program for Teaching and Learning
OIT seeks to mentor Graduate Teaching Associates teaching experience by encouraging deeper use of current technology practices. The GTA@OIT program is available to any GTA, with sole responsibility for teaching a course, who is interested in expanding their teaching practice by redesigning a course or course component for Web-based delivery with Online@UT (Canvas). Grant submissions are reviewed for both fall and spring semesters of the academic year.
Awarded grant recipients are paired with an OIT Instructional Support Specialist to assist in the redesign and development of the GTA’s course or course component for online delivery. The OIT assistance includes one-on-one instructional design consulting, Technology-Enhanced Classroom training, and consulting on the use of Online@UT (Canvas) features including: course content development, student engagement, and student assessment and evaluation. Recipients are also awarded $1,000 to be used for travel and/or professional development purposes.
