UT Canvas Catalog



Canvas Catalog is an outreach platform for non-credit/non-degree instructional purposes. Colleges or units may use Catalog to offer professional development, public outreach, or other certificate-based courses and programs. Catalog can be accessed by those within the university community, but more importantly, can provide access to those outside of the university. Catalog offerings can be both no fee and fee-based. Enrollment fees can easily be processed via the integrated TouchNet payment gateway. Additionally, special discount and promotional codes can be created to facilitate special partnership and incentive programs.

  • College of Social Work
  • Haslam College of Business
  • College of Veterinary Medicine
  • Tennessee Jobs Factory

To submit a request for a Canvas Catalog course or program, please submit our onboarding form.

There is a fee structure associated with Canvas Catalog. 

  • All Catalog courses are $9.00 per user per course, effective August 1, 2022, per our contract with Canvas. Billing occurs monthly based on course enrollments. To discuss specific costs per course or program, please submit a request online.

UTK users: For help with technical issues involving UT Canvas Catalog, contact the OIT HelpDesk. If you have questions about a course or its requirements, contact the course instructor.

How do I log in to a UT Canvas Catalog course?

UTK users: 

  1. Visit https://ut.pdx.catalog.canvaslms.com/
  2. Select the course card for the course of interest.
  3. Select the Enroll button.
  4. Select the Sign in here link. Do not fill out the form.
    Note: All UTK faculty, staff, and students automatically receive a UT Canvas Catalog account and should not create one themselves. These accounts are created at the beginning of each month.
  5. Log in with your UTK NetID and Password.
    • To enroll in a Free course:
      • Select the Enroll in Course button.
    • To enroll in a Fee-based course:
      1. Enter a Promotion Code if you have one. Select the Apply button.
      2. Select the Proceed to Payment button to complete your enrollment.
  6. Select the Go to your Dashboard link.
  7. Select the Go To Course button to begin.

Non-UTK users: 

  1. Visit https://ut.pdx.catalog.canvaslms.com/
  2. Select the course card for the course of interest.
  3. Select the Enroll button.
  4. You will be directed to the Course Registration page. Fill out the requested information.
    • To enroll in a Free course:
      • Select the Enroll in Course button. 
    • To enroll in a Fee-based course:
      1. Enter a Promotion Code if you have one. Select the Apply button.
      2. Select the Proceed to Payment button to complete your enrollment.
  5. Check your email for a message stating that an account has been created for you. In the email, select the COMPLETE REGISTRATION button.
  6. Enter a password of your choosing. Select your Time Zone. Select the Register button.
  7. Select the Go To Course button to begin.

How do I log in to a UT Canvas Catalog course for which I am already registered?

UTK users: 

  1. Visit https://ut.pdx.catalog.canvaslms.com/
  2. Select the Login link located in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. On the page that appears, select the Log in with UTK NetID button.

Non-UTK users: 

  1. Visit https://ut.pdx.catalog.canvaslms.com/
  2. Select the Login link located in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. On the page that appears, select the Log in without UTK NetID button.
  4. Enter the email address and password used when you created your UT Canvas Catalog account.

How do non-UTK users reset their password?

  1. Visit https://ut.pdx.catalog.canvaslms.com/
  2. Select the Login link located in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. On the page that appears, select the Log in without UTK NetID button.
  4. Select the Forgot Password? link.
  5. Enter the email address that was used to create the UT Canvas Catalog account.
  6. Select the Request Password button.
  7. You will receive an email message with a link to change your password.
