Bioinformatics Symposium (2023)
September 1, 2023
The Office of Innovative Technologies High Performance and Scientific Computing (HPSC) group is hosting our 3rd annual Bioinformatics Symposium!
The UT Bioinformatics Symposium is an annual event that brings together bioinformatics researchers from across the UT campuses. The symposium provides a forum for researchers to share their latest findings and ideas and to network with other bioinformatics professionals. This year’s symposium will focus on the support and facilitation of High-Performance Computing (HPC) Resources for Bioinformatics. OIT’s High Performance and Scientific Computing (HPSC) group will host the Third Annual Bioinformatics Symposium via Zoom on Friday, September 1, 2023.
Building on the community discussions from last year, the symposium will feature talks and discussions with bioinformatics researchers across the UT campuses. This research includes using the ISAAC clusters for high-performance computing in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, transcriptomics, informatics, and other related fields. Topics will include:
- Managing and analyzing large datasets
- Integrating data from multiple sources
- Facilitating the use of HPC resources for bioinformatics
- Discussion to help shape on-campus HPC resources (i.e., ISAAC)
The goals of the symposium are to provide an opportunity for discussion among bioinformatics researchers and identify areas where the HPSC group can support bioinformatics research with computing resources and training.
This symposium will bring together the Bioinformatics research community across the UT campuses to discuss recent accomplishments and opportunities for development. We’d love for you to participate and contribute your voice to this discussion!
