Abstract:
Hospitality and retail are service industries highly reliant upon the purchase of their products and consumption of services, yet little recognition is given to the employee facilitating these processes. Often, emphasis is placed on revenue management, sales, operations and marketing as finances is a major focus. This course will place emphasis on managing the employee, the human component of businesses. This course will involve the use of modules to depict different scenarios within human resource management. Students will gain knowledge and empowerment through imitating the workplace roles and exploring key concepts relevant to human resources management using information technology.
