To kick off 2026, technology support staff from UT Knoxville’s Office of Innovative Technologies and the UT System’s Department of Technology Solutions, a collective known as OneIT, combined team spirit with a commitment to making a difference in the university community. During a recent New Year’s potluck gathering, the teams came together not only to reconnect and share delicious dishes but also to extend kindness to those in need.

As part of the event, we organized a donation drive to support the University’s Center for Basic Needs. The team collected shelf-stable foods such as peanut butter, pasta, and canned goods, along with hygiene items like toothpaste and shampoo, and cold-weather essentials including hats, scarves, and gloves. These contributions will help provide much-needed support to students and others on campus facing challenges.

This effort reflects our dedication to fostering both community and compassion. We’re proud to have started the year by giving back and showing what it means to be part of the Volunteer family.
