Beginning October 1, 2026, OneIT will introduce updated monthly UT AI Hub usage allowances for all users across the University of Tennessee system. These allowances support academic, research, and university business activities. OneIT established the updated default amounts after reviewing current AI Hub usage and will continue to monitor usage and adjust allowances as needed. 

An AI Hub usage allowance is the amount of AI services available to a user each month. Allowances are expressed as dollar values, and the AI Hub displays the percentage of the monthly allowance used. For example, a user with a $50 monthly allowance who uses $25 in AI services will see 50% usage. 

The updated monthly allowance will be assigned automatically by primary affiliation: 

• Faculty and staff: $50 per month 

• Undergraduate and graduate students: $20 per month 

Most users will not need to take action. These allowances are intended to support typical academic, research, and university business use. 

Need Additional AI Hub Usage? 

Departments may fund additional AI Hub usage allowances for employees who need more than the standard amount.

Contact OneIT online to request an increase in their usage allowance; all requests require approval from a Dean, Director, or Department Head.
