OIT High Performance & Scientific Computing (HPSC) provides research computing resources and services to the University community, including:
ISAAC is comprised of two distinct HPSC environments to support high performance & scientific computing: the ISAAC Secure Enclave for research with sensitive information and the ISAAC Open Enclave for research not involving any sensitive information.
Along with the ISAAC, the HPSC supports faculty and researchers in preparing proposals involving computational resources such as equipment, virtual machines, and professional services, including Computational Scientist (SciComp) or system administrator support.
If your proposal is in response to federal solicitations, you need to know that ISAAC is not a cost center, and the following conditions apply.
The Fiscal Year 2023 costs and costs estimates for HPC compute and storage for proposals and faculty investment are described on the HPSC website node and storage investment page.
To request help with proposal development that would include HPSC services or equipment, submit your request on the OIT Service Portal. If you have questions before submitting your request, contact the HPSC Director, Victor Hazlewood, at email@example.com.
In addition to the 50 hours of research computing assistance per year that Faculty and staff receive, you may include RCS consultants in grants at a 2-3% per year full-time employee (FTE) allocation. The OIT team member is considered either a collaborator/consultant and listed as senior/key personnel as defined by the NIH or the appropriate granting agency.
To request a one-on-one consultation with one of the RCS team members, contact the OIT HelpDesk online or by phone at 865-974-9900
