Featured Software: JMP Student Edition Based on JMP Pro 19
JMP is comprehensive software for experimental design, statistical analysis, and data visualization. JMP Student Edition is based on features in JMP Pro and available at no additional charge as a single-user 12-month renewable license for students faculty, and staff currently enrolled or teaching at colleges and universities.
The latest release of JMP Student Edition includes several new features built into JMP Pro 19. JMP’s SAS and Python integration have been improved significantly to provide more data access options. A new causal treatment platform is now available to support causal inference. Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMM) enhancements include stability/shelf-life analysis and Ordinal logistic mixed models. A new Bayesian optimization platform has also been added to JMP Student Edition.
Instructions on how to access JMP student Editon are available on the JMP site or the OIT software distribution site. JMP runs on Windows 32-bit and 64-bit systems and Mac Intel systems. For Windows users, JMP Student Edition is adaptable for Windows 10 (except for Windows 10 S edition) and Windows 11. For Mac users, JMP Student Edition is supported on macOS 15 (Sequoia) and later.
The JMP website offers free video tutorials and JMP e-learning courses (more details can be found in the installation instructions on OIT’s software download page).
JMP Statistical Discovery has informed all universities that they will need to transition from JMP Pro to JMP Student Edition to continue to have access to the software. JMP Student Edition contains all the same features as JMP Pro and is available for academic use at no additional charge. JMP Pro 17 is available to faculty, staff and students at the Knoxville campus and can be downloaded for no additional charge at https://www.oit.utk.edu/software until expiration in May of 2026. After the JMP Pro 17 licenses has expired, university members will need to transition to JMP Student Edition to continue using the software.
