Complete Your Annual Information Security Awareness Training and Stay Connected

Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility.
Each year, the University of Tennessee requires all employees to complete Information Security Awareness Training to help protect our students, research, institutional data, and each other from today’s evolving cyber threats.
Beginning this fall, employees who do not complete their required Information Security Awareness Training by the assigned deadline will have their access to University IT resources restricted or even removed until the training is completed. This may include access to services such as UT email, DASH, Canvas, K@TE, and other university systems. Wi-Fi access and the ability to sign in to your computer may also be affected.
The Knoxville campus training deadline is December 31, 2026.
This change reflects the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees’ commitment to maintaining a secure computing environment and aligns with the stated expectations outlined in University Policy IT0014, Information Technology Security Awareness Training Management.
Don’t wait until the deadline; completing your Information Security Awareness Training only takes a short amount of time. It helps protect not only the University, but also your personal information and devices from many of the same threats you encounter every day.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Information Security Awareness Training is part of your 2026-2027 Annual Campus Compliance Training and is available through K@TE, UT’s Learning Management System, under the title “Cybersecurity Awareness.”
- Complete the assigned training by the required deadline stated in the official UT email notifications you receive.
- Watch for reminder notifications in your inbox. You will continue to receive emails until your training is completed.
- If training is not completed by the deadline, your access to university network resources will be restricted.
- Network access will be restored after your training completion has been verified.
Thank you for doing your part to help keep the University of Tennessee secure.
