Email, Calendars, & Instant Messaging

Everything you need to know about your UT email, calendar, and instant messaging.

Google for Education provides faculty, staff, and students access to many of the Google applications and services.

The University is transitioning to Microsoft as the primary platform for collaboration and productivity tools. While Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms will remain available, they will have reduced storage quotas. However, Gmail will no longer be available after the transition. Learn about the transition on OIT’s website.

Email, calendaring, and chat solutions are available to all faculty, staff, and students.

The University of Tennessee uses the university-supplied e-mail account as an official means of communication. Official communication can include, but is not limited to, information and notices about financial obligations, student conduct, course schedules, canceled courses, financial aid, emails from the Chancellor, Provost, your professors, Online@UT (Canvas) communication, and OIT account and service information.  OIT advises using your UT email account exclusively for university-related matters.
