Beginning January 28, the University of Tennessee will enable a new feature that provides automatic responses when you report a suspicious email using the “Report Message” button in Outlook. This enhancement, powered by Microsoft Defender, is designed to improve security and deliver faster feedback to our community.

When you report an email, you will receive a follow-up message summarizing the results of the investigation. Reported emails will be classified as Phishing or Malware, Spam, or No Threats Found. By providing timely updates, this feature strengthens our ability to protect university accounts and ensures you remain informed about potential threats.
