Artificial Intelligence at UT: What You Need to Know

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a bigger part of daily life at UT. Even if you feel late to the game, you’re not alone. Review this four-point primer on AI, its application in higher education, and UT AI policies regarding the use of these tools.
- Artificial Intelligence: AI refers to computer systems that can perform tasks usually requiring human intelligence, such as understanding language, recognizing patterns, or making decisions.
- AI Uses at UT: AI tools are being leveraged for research, teaching, and administrative work. Examples include chatbots for answering questions, software that helps grade assignments, and programs that analyze data.
- UT policies for Using AI: Everyone is responsible for understanding and following university policies and ethical guidelines when using AI.
