What’s New in Canvas

With the start of Fall classes, it’s time to put the finishing touches on your courses. Be sure to check out some of the recent features and updates available for you and your online course sites.
Microsoft OneDrive in Canvas
The Microsoft OneDrive integration is now supported in all UTK Canvas courses. Instructors and students can now use, share, create, and collaborate on Microsoft files (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) within the Canvas environment. Users can also view their files on OneDrive within Canvas.

Discussion Checkpoints
This spring, Canvas released a new feature that has been the request of many instructors: Discussion Checkpoints. Instructors can now assign multiple due dates for the various stages of a Discussion. This update gives more opportunity for student participation and understanding of student progress.
View more information on how to use Discussion Checkpoints in your Canvas course or see Discussion Checkpoints in action.
Enhanced Rubrics
Last winter, Canvas released the new Enhanced Rubrics feature. Instructors at UTK now have access to updated rubric criteria and rubric interface when viewing on SpeedGrader. Canvas also included a new rubric tool: Self-Assessments for students.
