Leaving UT? Prepare Before Losing Access to Your Research Software

Transferring Ownership

When students, faculty, and staff leave the University of Tennessee, access to all research software, including ArcGIS and Qualtrics, will end on your Left UT date.

Qualtrics

You will no longer be able to access your Qualtrics account after your Left UT date. If you have surveys that are still active, ownership can be transferred to another individual at UT by submitting a request to the OIT HelpDesk. If you are transferring to another university and they have a Qualtrics license, your account can be transferred to your new institution by submitting a request to Qualtrics Support.

Learn more about Qualtrics at the Research Computing Support (RCS ) website.

ArcGIS

You will no longer be able to access ArcGIS after your Left UT Date. Once you have left the UT, files stored in the ArcGIS cloud environment may be deleted to free up space. ArcGIS content can be transferred to another user by contacting the OIT HelpDesk.

Read the OIT Knowledge Base article, ArcGIS Online: Things to Know Before You Leave.

Other Research Software (downloaded)

The academic licenses for research software can only be used by active students, faculty and staff. Once you have left the university, you are no longer eligible to use any research software licensed by the university (e.g. Matlab, SAS, SPSS, JMP, NVivo, Stata). You will need remove any downloaded research software from your computers after leaving.
