LaTeX (Lah-tech or Lay-tech) is a high-quality typesetting system that includes features designed for producing technical and scientific documentation. LaTeX is available under the terms of the LaTeX Project Public License (LPPL) and distributed through Comprehensive TeX Archive Network servers or comes as part of many easily installable and usable TeX distributions. TeX Live, MacTeX, and MiKTeX are common distributions for Linux, Mac OS, and Windows users, respectively. The distributions are run using editors such as TeXShop for Mac users and TeXstudio for Windows users. RCS provides minimal support for LaTeX, specifically with the TeXstudio and MacTeX editors. LaTeX is a document preparation system used for large technical documents and can also be used for other forms of publishing. LaTeX encourages authors to concentrate on content rather than formatting and is not a word processor. Below are a few highlighted features of LaTeX.
