Starting October 1, 2024, you will no longer be required to classify your university-owned devices. Device Self-Classification has been the annual process that assists you in identifying which type of information is stored, viewed, or processed on university-owned devices. With several new security initiatives, including Microsoft Intune and Defender, we find that the Device Classification information is no longer necessary.

If your device is compromised, we will work with you and your departmental IT staff to determine the type of information disclosed.
