Kick off your summer school experience by getting the latest tools and features from Zoom for your device. For the best user experience, be sure to stay up to date with software updates. In the Zoom desktop application, select the profile image on the top-right and choose Check for Updates or visit the Zoom Download Center. 

Recently changed and improved features released by Zoom: 

• An application name change from Zoom to Zoom Workplace. 
• Zoom desktop app color themes. 
• Bolder icons in the Zoom desktop app and the meeting toolbar. 
• In-meeting multi-speaker video layout. 
• The Security icon is now Host tools on the meeting toolbar. 

Please keep the following tips in mind as you move forward with summer classes and Zoom:  

• If you’re the host, be sure to log in to your UT Zoom account and start your meeting. If you attend from a link, even if the link is in your calendar, Zoom may not recognize your role as the leader. Visit this article for step-by-step instructions on logging in. 

• Always log in using the SSO option and your NetID and password. If you log in to Zoom with an email address, you could activate a Basic Zoom account that’s not included in our UT Zoom environment. Remind your students how to correctly log in as well! 

Remember, meeting hosts not only help facilitate discussions and lead online learning sessions, but they also have full control of the meeting environment. Host controls include sharing screen, recording, and creating/launching breakout rooms.
