HelpDesk May Be Closing, But Smokey’s Here to Help


HelpDesk Holiday Hours

The OIT HelpDesk will close for the winter break at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, and reopen at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29. It will close again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, and reopen at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5. 

While the University is closed, OIT will continue to monitor the network, email, and major computer applications. To check the status of IT systems, please visit the OIT Status Page.

If you need assistance during Winter Break, ask Smokey, the OIT Chatbot, or search the OIT Knowledge Base for answers.

The Smokey who lives on the HelpDesk page strictly focuses on brushing up on his IT skills, so he doesn’t know everything about the University or other UT departments. Smokey is powered by artificial intelligence that determines the best answers.
