New Accessibility Information In Your Classroom

Accessibility classrooms.utk.edu

Locating and accessing campus classrooms can be challenging if you are unfamiliar with a building’s layout. They can be even more difficult for individuals who have mobility issues. For many technology-enhanced classrooms on campus, OIT is working to add detailed accessibility information to the Classroom Technology Resource website at classrooms.utk.edu. This is an ongoing enhancement project and one we hope you find beneficial for all Volunteers.

How to View the Accessibility Information

  1. On the classrooms.utk.edu website, use the Find Your Classroom box to search for your building.
  2. Choose your classroom by room number.
  3. On the classroom page, select the accessibility image in the gray box near the top of the page.

What You’ll See on the Accessibility Page

  • A mini-map of where to find the building on campus.
  • An image of the classroom with a description of the available furniture.
  • Written instructions for an accessible route to the classroom for individuals who cannot navigate stairs.
  • A map of the building with arrows and landmarks, such as elevators and restrooms, to show how to get to the specific room.

Visit OIT’s Accessibility in the Classroom page for more information on how to use the accessibility features on classrooms.utk.edu, as well as helpful links to available accessibility resources for faculty.
