Try This: Universal Design for Learning (UDL) for PDF’s

UDL, Universal Design for Learning

If you use PDFs in your course materials, be sure to convert them to a searchable format! It makes the document compatible with screen readers and makes it easier for students to search for relevant passages or pull exact quotes for papers using copy/paste. Getting in the habit of making this small change can make a big difference for students.

If you’d like to learn more about UDL and receive guidance on implementing UDL principles in your courses, set up a consult with Dr. Bob DuBois, OIT Faculty Fellow for Universal Design of Learning.
