Holiday Hours for OIT HelpDesk


HelpDesk Holiday Hours

The OIT HelpDesk will close for the winter break at 12:01 PM ET on Friday, December 20, and reopen at 12:01 AM ET on Thursday, January 2, 2025. While the University is closed, OIT will continue to monitor the network, email, and major computer applications. To check the current status of IT systems, please visit the online OIT System Status Center.

If you need assistance during the Winter Break, we recommend that you contact us online, and we’ll respond on Thursday, January 2.

Chat with Smokey, the OIT Chatbot

The Smokey chatbot virtual assistant lives on the OIT Service Portal. He’s available to help you find answers to your UT technology questions. The Smokey who lives on the HelpDesk page strictly focuses on brushing up on his IT skills, so he doesn’t know everything about the University or other UT departments. Smokey is powered by artificial intelligence that determines the best answers.
