OIT Announces Name Change: The Office of Innovative Technologies
We’re amazed every day by the great work of UT’s faculty, staff, and students – and as the University continues to innovate and grow, OIT is excited to support your efforts every step of the way! To that end, we are pleased to announce two changes:
The Office of Information Technology is now The Office of Innovative Technologies
As the University’s technology needs evolve and expand, we’re embracing opportunities to elevate our partnerships, connections, and conversations across campus and beyond. The new technology landscape requires energetic responsiveness and constant innovation, and we are excited for our name to reflect our renewed commitment to you and the University as we tackle these technology challenges together.
Chief Academic Technology Officer Will Bring Focus to Important Issues
In support of these campus initiatives, Dan Harder has been selected to fill a new role as Associate Vice Chancellor of IT and Innovation, Chief Academic Technology Officer, and Deputy CIO. He will provide strategic leadership and direction for academic and research technology applications, including working with faculty to understand the teaching and learning environment, reviewing technological options related to teaching needs with faculty, and supporting the research needs of the University.
As we move forward together, we invite the university community to mark these important changes with us and share our excitement for the future. We are a University on the Rise!
