Your NetID and Password
All students, faculty, and staff at the University of Tennessee have a NetID and password. Your NetID permits secure access to a variety of applications and services. Applications that request NetID authentication vary by campus. For information about which applications require NetID authentication, contact your local HelpDesk.
Finding Your NetID
Knoxville Faculty, Staff, and Students
Follow the instructions online to look up your NetID.
All Other Campuses
Faculty and Staff can find their NetID by searching for themselves using the UT Online Directory. Your NetID and your preferred UT email address will be listed in the upper right-hand corner of your directory entry.
If you cannot find yourself in the UT Online Directory, please contact your campus HelpDesk for further assistance. Additionally, some faculty and staff request privacy in the directory and will be unlisted.
Note: Although employees are automatically added to the online directory through regularly scheduled updates, there may be a time lag. Request forms are provided to handle special circumstances, such as adding a new employee who needs services immediately, providing access to a contractor or other person not paid through the University payroll system, or adding an email address for a campus organization.
Setting Your NetID Password
Password changes take up to 15 minutes to sync to all systems.
