Microsoft Windows for Students



Microsoft is changing where students can access Windows 10 and 11. Beginning April 1, 2024, students can download Windows 10 and 11 directly from Microsoft through the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching program, previously available from Kivuto.

Students

  • Download Windows 10 or Windows 11 at no additional cost.  This copy of Windows is available to you as part of the University’s Campus Agreement with Microsoft.
  • Eligible students include those actively enrolled and attending courses at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, that lead to academic credit or a degree.
  • Windows 10 and 11 from Azure Dev Tools for Teaching can be used for Apple Boot Camp (Intel-based Macs).
  • The Windows 11 license obtained from Azure Dev Tools for Teaching can be used in Parallels on M-based Macs.

Go to the OIT Knowledge Base and follow the instructions to sign up for your account.

Access License Keys for Windows

License Keys for Windows 10 and 11 are available in the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching portal. OIT strongly encourages you to make copies of downloads and license keys and store them in a safe place.
