Information Security Awareness Training
Service navigation
Cybersecurity affects all of us. The emails we receive, the websites we visit, and the tools we use for work can all create opportunities for scams, fraud, and data loss. Information Security training is designed to help you recognize common threats and take simple steps to protect both university information and your own personal information.
The University of Tennessee offers training for anyone using our online resources to ensure the safety of user information, computers, and IT systems. University Policy IT0014 establishes guidelines for maintaining the security skills of the organizational users, IT personnel, and security staff.
Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Assistants
Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Assistants are required to complete annual information security awareness training. This online, computer-based program provides employees with the materials they need to engage in informative and efficient security training.
Employees who do not complete their required Information Security Awareness Training by the assigned deadline will have access to some university IT resources restricted until the training is completed. This may include access to services such as UT email, DASH, Canvas, K@TE, and other university systems. Wi-Fi access and the ability to sign in to your computer may also be affected.
Information Security Awareness Training is offered through K@TE, the University of Tennessee’s Learning Management System for training and professional development. Training is estimated to take up to one hour.
What to Know
