Technology Training and General OIT Services GTA Position Available
We’re currently looking for a Graduate Student Assistant!
This Graduate Teaching Assistantship is a twelve-month, half-time position, which includes a stipend as well as a waiver of tuition and maintenance fees for the academic year and summer session. The role requires a commitment of twenty hours per week throughout the spring, summer, and fall semesters.
The Graduate Teaching Assistant is responsible for providing technology support to faculty, staff, and students while demonstrating strong communication and organizational abilities. In this role, resourcefulness and initiative are essential, as you will be assisting campus members with Microsoft software, gathering information on classroom technology, updating classroom resources websites, and developing and performing training software and technology. Adaptability and analytical thinking are required as you assist in developing workshops under the supervision of a trainer and conduct training sessions for faculty, graduate teaching assistants, staff, and students.
Being capable of working independently and efficiently within tight deadlines is fundamental, as you will need to reliably complete assigned tasks and quickly acquire new technological skills. Accountability and attention to detail are key to performing additional duties as assigned. Collaboration and teamwork are highly valued, and you’ll have opportunities to contribute positively to group efforts throughout your work.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience in several of the following areas:
- Experience with WordPress or SharePoint Communications sites
- Experience developing step-by-step instructions and training materials
- Advanced skills with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Preferred Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Preferred teaching or training experience
