Classroom Technology and Training Undergraduate Student Position Available

We’re currently looking for an Undergraduate Student Assistant!

This undergraduate position will support technology training and classroom technology documentation on campus through technical writing, visiting classrooms to document technology, updating websites, and developing training materials. This individual must be able to work independently and with groups, and have the ability to quickly pick up new technologies.

The Student Assistant for OIT Teaching & Learning is an hourly-paid position open for UTK students who are available to work 10-20 hours per week. Starting pay is $13.00/hour.

Primary Duties

• Write clear, step-by-step instructional documentation
• Create simple graphics to support training materials
• Assist with the creation of instructional videos
• Visit classrooms to document technology use, including photography and posting instructions
• Assist with updating WordPress and SharePoint websites (training provided)

Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates with experience in several of the following areas:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (required)
• Excellent time management skills (required)
• Ability to write technical documentation and step-by-step instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Teams
• Experience developing step-by-step instructions and training materials
• Some experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign
• Experience with video creation tools
• Familiarity with WordPress site and/or SharePoint Communication websites
