UT Verse Skills

What are UT Verse Skills?

While utilizing UT Verse: AI Assistant you can take advantage of various AI skills to help get the responses that you might expect.  Skills can be enabled or disabled per AI response if desired for a variety of reasons as we’ll explain. Below is a table of skills which AI supports regardless of the AI model chosen.

Document ChatChat with your uploaded documents. Documents are presently only available within the same thread they were uploaded to. Very few tokens are consumed while searching documents no matter the size.
Web SearchPerforms web searches to help improve responses with current information and data it would normally not know. This skill dives into each discovered webpage and attempts deduce an answer through advanced reasoning techniques. Despite its complex nature, this deep research technique is highly optimized and consumes very few tokens.
MarkdownUtilization of the markdown language to stylize the responses. Required for more visually appealing responses.
Charts and GraphsAllows for the creation of charts and graphs. Currently supports: Bar, Pie, Radar.
MathematicsAllows for the calculation of Mathematics. (Experimental)
LaTeXFormats Mathematics using LaTeX syntax language. Required to view Mathematics but may be incompatible with some programming languages.

Accessing Skills

To enable or disable skills there are several ways to do this. The primary method is to access the skills setting available in the Prompt Input Zone.

From here, you will see a list of available skills that you can activate or deactivate at any time during your conversation.

Why should some skills be disabled?

Performing a web search for interactions that may not need it can dramatically slow down responses. What could take one or two seconds could then take twenty or more. Another reason could be that you are working in a certain programming language and LaTeX is trying to replace code with its own interpretation. Disabling LaTeX will prevent this from happening, this is especially true while working with PHP.

We like to give everyone the ability to control and customize their AI experience.

Important Notes About the Web Search Skill

When UT Verse performs web searches, it follows many different webpages, then performs analysis on each web page and uses its best ability to reason what is the most relevant answer to the request. This version of deep research can take time, particularly when websites are slow to crawl. Other services often only use a search API and return information from the brief website titles and descriptions that are returned, but UT Verse does careful analysis on each page for better responses.

Viewing Details for Each Skill

Each skill has their own help documentation within the UT Verse: AI Assistant app. When the skills menu is opened, there will be a help icon next to the enable/disable toggle. Clicking it will open the help document for that skill, which is the most up-to-date documentation available. These documentations will also include supported information, limitations and other FAQ.
