iPad Loan Program

Faculty interested in increasing student engagement in a teaching and learning environment can now borrow iPad tablets in one of the following ways:

  1. Faculty members can borrow one iPad for up to 4 weeks to determine whether this is a technology that would be appropriate for their classroom.
  2. Faculty can borrow from 5 to 20 iPads for classroom use. They can be loaned for 1 to 4 weeks during fall and spring terms. During the summer they can be loaned for the entire first session or second session (5 weeks).

iPad request forms need to be submitted 2 weeks in advance of date needed for class.

The faculty member or GTA, if instructor of record, assumes responsibility for the iPads, and support hardware (iPad cover, charger, and stylus if requested) upon receipt of hardware, and completion of required check out form. If the faculty wishes to have students take the equipment out of the classroom during the loan period, faculty would want each student to fill out and sign the iPad Classroom Equipment Checkout Form (below), which would transfer the responsibility of that equipment to the student to whom it is assigned. Equipment fees for loss or damage to iPads: Lost or Stolen: $500.00; Damaged: $50.00; Charger (Block and USB Cable) $40.00.

For Class Use by Students outside of the classroom
OIT will provide a student check out form for faculty wishing to loan iPads to their students for use outside the classroom. On your initial application form you will need to indicate that students will be using the iPads outside the classroom. Each student must complete and sign the form prior to being allowed to take the iPad.
