Important Reminder: Update Your Zoom Desktop App

Zoom Updates

If you missed the previous announcements, the Zoom Quarterly Software Lifecycle Policy has been implemented. May 6th will be the next enforcement date set by Zoom. Without the proper updates, you will be unable to join meetings via the Zoom client and prompted to either update your client or enter from a web browser.

Users running a Zoom client older than the following operating systems will be affected:

  • 5.11.0 (Blackberry)
  • 5.11.3 (Linux, iOS, iOS for Intune)
  • 5.11.4 (Windows, macOS, Android, and Android for Intune)

To update the Zoom desktop application:

  1. Log in to the desktop application.
  2. Select the profile image at the top-right of the application window. Your profile could be your initials or a profile picture that you have uploaded.
  3. Choose the option to Check for Updates* and follow the prompts on the screen.
*If you downloaded Zoom from the Microsoft Store, you will not see the Check for Updates option. The Microsoft Store updates the Zoom app automatically.
