Your Students Can’t Hear You?

Request a Portable Speaker System from OIT

Are you teaching in a low-tech classroom or less-traditional teaching space this fall and find that your mask is muffling your voice? OIT is providing a portable speaker system with a headset for instructors to make it easier for your class to hear you. Starting on Wednesday, August 18, we will have personal amplifiers available for instructors. While the majority of classrooms have installed speaker systems and headsets at the podium, for those who are teaching in smaller classrooms that lack all of the standard classroom technologies, this is a simple, low-tech, lightweight solution.

Submit your request online. Please note: OIT is only able to provide one adapter per person.

To learn more about the audio devices currently available in most campus-hosted classrooms, view these new audio resources that include,

  • Instructions for Audio Controls,
  • Lapel Mics,
  • Handheld & Conference Mics,
  • Assistive Hearing Systems, and
  • Troubleshooting Audio.

If you need assistance requesting a portable speaker or using classroom technology, contact the OIT HelpDesk at 865-974-9900.
