We are happy to announce that starting Monday, August 10, OIT services will resume in the Commons at Hodges Library. To provide support in a safe and socially distant manner, you’ll notice that a few things have changed.
- OIT HelpDesk: Check in from your mobile device or laptop at help.utk.edu/checkin to speak to a HelpDesk consultant. You’ll be placed in a virtual line and will be called up to the desk when it’s your turn. View the hours for HelpDesk at the Commons online. In addition to these services, you can reach the HelpDesk by phone, chat, and online.
- OIT Student Computer Support: OIT will continue to provide excellent computer support to our students; however, students must start by calling the OIT HelpDesk. Our desktop support specialists will triage over the phone first; if we cannot resolve your issue over the phone, we’ll schedule an appointment for you to drop off your computer in the Commons at Hodges Library. Our new hours for computer support for the fall term are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
- OIT Computer Labs: A limited number of computers will be available in the Commons. All of these computers have the standard suite of software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud. We recommend you wipe down the desk, keyboard, and mouse before using the computer.
- Printing: Skip the print release stations and use MyPrint to print from your mobile devices and computer.
