How to Sign in to ArcGIS Online with Your UT Account

University of Tennessee students, faculty, and staff have access to ArcGIS Online at no additional cost through UT’s organizational license. ArcGIS is a geographic information system (GIS) software suite used to create maps, analyze spatial data, visualize geographic patterns, and share location-based information through interactive maps and applications.
If you are new to ArcGIS, an important first step is to make sure you sign into ArcGIS through the UT organization rather than creating a separate public Esri account. Using the UT organizational account provides you with access to many UT-provided ArcGIS applications and content that are not available with an Esri public account.
The UT organizational license for ArcGIS provides separate portals for each campus, so it is important to make sure you are using the portal for your campus. The link to use for the UT Knoxville community is myutk.maps.arcgis.com. If you are affiliated with the Knoxville campus (UTK), select the button labeled “SIGN IN WITH UTK”.
Choose the appropriate portal links for your campus with one of the following links:
- UTC: ArcGIS Online Portal
- UTHSC: ArcGIS Online Portal
- UTK: ArcGIS Online Portal
- UTM: ArcGIS Online Portal
- UTS: ArcGIS Online Portal
Once you have successfully signed in using Single Sign-On (SSO), your name will appear in the upper-right corner of the ArcGIS Online screen, although you may have to widen or maximize your screen for it to be visible.
Research Computing Support (RCS) provides assistance with ArcGIS and other research software, including consultations, troubleshooting, and guidance on using GIS tools for research and academic projects. If you have trouble signing in or would like to schedule an appointment with an RCS consultant, contact the OIT HelpDesk online.
