Canvas is retiring two older portfolio tools—Canvas ePortfolios and Portfolium’s Folio—and replacing them with a new experience called Canvas Portfolio. If your course currently asks students to use ePortfolios or Folio, please review and update any assignments, modules, links, or written instructions that mention those tools.

Students should also save their work before June 30 by downloading content from Canvas ePortfolios or exporting their work from Folio. 

The new Canvas Portfolio is designed to make it easier for students to build customizable, shareable portfolios that support academic, professional, and reflective learning. It also gives instructors the ability to assign structured, competency-based portfolios, helping students collect artifacts over time, reflect on their progress, and showcase their learning in a more intentional way.
