1. PowerPoint Template
Update your PowerPoint theme or create a new one. Visual designers can work with you on the colors, fonts, background images, and other layout elements that will best present your content.
2. Word Template
Update or create a Word template for your class materials. Visual designers can work with you on the colors, fonts, and other layout elements that will best present your content, and save them as styles within the document.
3. Sourcing Images
Determine what images best support your content. The visual designer can then source the images for you through a number of online image services. They can also navigate any copyright, image resolution, and accessibility questions you may have.
4. Improving Images
Get assistance with updating, revising, or reimagining the images you currently use to support instructional concepts. The visual designer can also navigate any copyright, image resolution, and accessibility questions you may have.
5. Visual Design Consultation
Receive a consultation on your Canvas site, PowerPoint slides, Word documents, or other course materials all together. While this type of consultation is similar to others in that it may cover PowerPoint or Word, it will focus more on how all of your materials can work together to create a coherent, streamlined visual experience for your students. The Visual Design for Instruction Online Module can be used as a starting point for discussing your preferences for your visual materials.
If you’ve already joined a cohort, contact your instructional designer. They will be happy to connect you with the right person to answer your questions.
If you’re interested in joining an upcoming cohort, please contact the OIT HelpDesk at 865-974-9900 or complete a web form at help.utk.edu and indicate that you are looking for support to develop an online course.
