Active Directory (AD) is a Microsoft service for managing networks. It
lets administrators assign policies, deploy software, and apply updates for an entire organization. AD also lets users store data in a central location where it can be reliably backed up.
Active Directory helps the Office of Information Technology (OIT)
provide improved service to users. AD improves security and reduces
calls to the HelpDesk, creating a more productive computer environment
with decreased downtime for the user.
