Graduate Teaching Assistant in Teaching and Learning Technologies (Excel)


This Graduate Teaching Assistantship, which is a twelve-month, half-time appointment, carries a stipend and a waiver of tuition and maintenance fees, including the summer session. A half-time Graduate Teaching Assistant works twenty hours per week and is expected to work spring, summer, and fall semesters.

The Graduate Teaching Assistant provides technology support to faculty, staff, and students. Duties may include several of the following:

  • Supporting faculty, staff, and students with MS Excel questions
  • Extracting, cleaning, and analyzing administrative data
  • Developing instructional training materials on software and technology for faculty, staff, and students
  • Training faculty, graduate teaching assistants, and others on use of classroom technology
  • Teaching or developing technology workshops under the guidance of a trainer
  • Other duties assigned as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who have experience in several of these areas:

  • Advanced MS Excel
  • Intermediate MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience working with extensive data sets
  • Experience with statistics
  • Ability to learn (or experience with) technology training

The ideal candidate must possess good communication, organizational, and customer service skills; be able to work independently and efficiently within tight deadlines; and have an aptitude to quickly learn and apply new technology skills.
