Skype for Business



Microsoft Skype for Business will be retired in July 2021. Microsoft is recommending Teams as a replacement for Skype for Business.

Microsoft Skype for Business is a collaboration tool for instant messaging (IM), voice or video calls, and online meetings. Skype for Business is available for Windows, Mac, and most mobile devices anywhere you have Internet access.

Search for Skype for Business in the App Store, Google Play, or Windows Store to download the mobile app.

Web Access to Skype for Business for Online Meetings

Microsoft supports Internet Explorer 11 and the current version, plus the previous release, of Firefox, Chrome, and Safari.

Logging in to Skype for Business

You will use your Microsoft 365 organizational account to log into Skype for Business.

  • Username for Faculty/Staff: netid@utk.edu
  • Username for Students: netid@vols.utk.edu
  • Password: NetID password**

**If you are unable to login to your account, please reset or change your NetID password. Doing so will force your NetID password to sync with your Microsoft 365 account. Reset or change your password online.
