Virtual Host
OIT provides web-site hosting on our hardened virtual-host servers. We offer "vanity" domain names within the "utk.edu" or "tennessee.edu" domain (such as "newwebsite.utk.edu" or "newwebsite.tennessee.edu") as well as access to CGI, Perl, PHP, server-side includes, and cumulative web-site statistics. Sensitive transactions can be protected with SSL under the "secure.utk.edu" shared domain. Each virtual host account comes with 100 megabytes of disk storage, and more can be purchased if needed.
