SUBJECT: Internet Connectivity for UT Retirees
We are pleased to announce the University has expanded Internet
connectivity and email account services for retirees. Effective
immediately, retirees of the University of Tennessee who are eligible for
State of Tennessee retirement benefits may apply for an Enhanced Remote
Access account, providing the retiree:
-- has local telephone connectivity to the Knoxville computing facility;
-- submits a request to Retirement and Benefits Services for such access
(the request will be verified for retiree eligibility and forwarded to the
Office of Information Technology (OIT); and
-- pays in advance on a semester basis the standard fee (approximately $10
per month) for access and maintenance; after the request is verified and
forwarded to OIT, the retiree will be informed of any fee to be paid and
the method of payment.
Also, eligible retirees may request a University email account and/or
continue use of their University email address alias of tennessee.edu or
utk.edu with email forwarded to a commercial Internet provider. This
service is available at no cost to the retiree and means an entry in the
University's directory services is maintained.
To continue these services, the retiree must adhere to the University
Acceptable Use Policy, which is posted on the web at
Retirees who wish to request any of these services may complete the
E-mail Continuation Request Form posted at
Mail the completed form to the Office of Retirement Services, 115
Conference Center Bldg., 37996-4115 or FAX to 865-974-3559.
