OIT will be performing maintenance on the faculty/staff Exchange systems during our regular maintenance window starting Sunday morning, 11/22/2009, at 12:01am and lasting up to 6 hours. During the maintenance period, OIT system administrators will be performing maintenance on the Fac/Staff cluster as well as applying security updates. Every effort will made to minimize the downtime needed for this maintenance. If you have any questions or concerns about this outage, please contact the OIT Helpdesk at 4-9900.

On November 18th, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm Telephone Services will perform maintenance on the phone system at NTRC. Users located at NTRC will experience service interruptions. All other Telephone Services users should not experience any interruptions.

Additional problems have been reported with the AT&T NetTN connections. From campus, some external websites may be delayed or unavailable. Network service to Jackson Ag, Tremont, Capitol Blvd, and Polk Avenue is unavailable. Network Services continues to work with AT&T to resolve the issue.

To enter Circle Park Online (CPO), please use the "Enter CPO" link on the left side of the page. System administrators are updating the "Enter Circle Park Online" button to allow users to authenticate with their NetID and password. The Traffic Center will be updated once the button has been reconfigured.

Users of the TStorage volumes USER04 and USER05 will experience a disruption of service on Sunday November 15th beginning at approximately 12:01 AM. OIT will be performing maintenance on the system to upgrade volume capacity. Users will not be able to access their home directories located on these volumes (USER04 and USER05) until maintenance is complete. The outage is expected to last approximately 1 to 2 hours. No action on the part of users is required for this outage.

OIT will be upgrading production Financial Aid from Banner 7 to Banner 8 from 5:00 p.m. Banner Upgrade Thursday, November 12, through 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14. Post-upgrade testing will be performed by OIT Developers and Financial Aid staff. The system will be restored to operation at 7:00a.m. on Monday, November 16.

OIT encountered an error during the installation of Microsoft's Antigen Antivirus application on the faculty/staff exchange servers. Changes that were made to the servers were rolled back. Currently users on Exchange server KFSVS4 are unable to access Exchange. All other faculty/staff Exchange servers should be available. OIT is working to bring KFSVS4 back online, but at this time there is no ETA for when it will be back up.

OIT will be performing maintenance on the faculty/staff Exchange systems during our regular maintenance window this Sunday morning beginning at 12:01 am and lasting up to 6 hours. During the maintenance period, OIT system administrators will install Microsoft’s Antigen Antivirus application on the faculty/staff servers. Exchange will periodically be unavailable as servers are rebooted after Antigen is installed.

Another phishing scam claiming to be from UTK Management. UT will NEVER ASK for your credentials in an email or offer to encrypt it with an RSA key.

Mail System Error - Returned Mail
A scam claiming that we have noticed the recipient's email sending spam. The recipient is warned that they probably have a trojan on their system and that they need to open the attached document which contains instructions on how to keep their computer safe. The attachment is, of course, a trojan.
