Who do I contact regarding the status of my order?

  1. Apple Computer (through VolTech) does not send confirmation letters upon receipt of departmental orders. Therefore, departments wishing to inquire about orders placed for Apple equipment should contact VolTech directly at (865) 974-2930. VolTech will be able to give you information concerning your order.
  1. If you have received a confirmation letter from your vendor, contact them and, using the order number from your confirmation letter, request the status of your order. Contact information for all of the contract vendors can be found under the ‘How to Order From Vendors’ section of the Hardware Purchases page or on the manufacturer’s specific ordering instructions page.

Who do I contact regarding the procedures for ordering computer equipment?

  1. Read the appropriate order instructions page for the manufacturer from which you wish to order. Links to these pages can be found under the ‘How to Order Computer Equipment’ section of the Hardware Purchases webpage.
  2. If your question was not answered on the appropriate ordering information page, then you may contact the OIT HelpDesk at 974-9900 for further help.

Who do I contact regarding pricing for computer equipment?

  1. Several of our contract vendors have placed their price lists online and/or created websites to provide the University community with pricing information. NOTE: OIT is not responsible for the pricing found on the websites of our various contractors. Links to these price lists can be found under the ‘Price List’ section of the Hardware Purchases page.
  2. If the item you desire is not listed or you are otherwise unable to find an answer to your question(s), please contact the contract vendor for the appropriate manufacturer and inquire with them. Names, telephone numbers and email addresses for all of the contract vendors can be found on the Hardware Purchases  page or on the manufacturer’s specific ordering instructions page.

Who do I contact regarding the availability of computer equipment?

  1. Inquiries about the availability of computer equipment should be made with each contract vendor. Contact information can be found under the ‘How to Order From Vendors’ section of the Hardware Purchases page or on the manufacturer’s specific ordering instructions page.

Who do I contact regarding technical questions?

  1. Questions of a technical nature can be addressed directly to the contract vendor and/or manufacturer. Once again, contact information can be found under the ‘How to Order From Vendors’ section of the Hardware Purchases page.
  2. If the contract vendor is unable to assist you or you are unable to find the necessary information on the manufacturer’s homepage or if you need assistance in determining what computer equipment meets your needs, you can call the HelpDesk at (865) 974-9900 and ask to speak to a consultant in the Desktop Support Team.
