WebMail Features "Show Me" Files
The WebMail Features "show me" files allow you to watch videos that include step by step instructions for using many of the features in your UT WebMail Account. Don't have your UT WebMail account yet? Click here to see how to register!
Introduction to WebMail. This video demonstrates how to log in to your WebMail account and navigate in the environment, explains the WebMail interface including the button bar, and shows how to check your mail usage quota. Play time: 6 min 16 sec.
Reading and Sending Email using WebMail. This video demonstrates the many tasks involved in reading and sending messages and discusses the new buttons found on the Create Message screen. The following topics are included in this video: read an email, view a file attachment, navigate between messages, save a sender's email address, delete an email after reading, reply to a message, forward a message, create a new message, use a saved email address from the personal address book, attach a file, use spellcheck. Using the WebMail Address Book. This video demonstrates how to add a person manually (as opposed to saving an email from an existing message) to your personal address book and use the public address book for the UT community. It also demonstrates how to create, edit, and delete distribution lists. Play time: 6 min 58 sec.
Creating Folders and Filing Messages. This video demonstrates two ways to create new folders in your WebMail account to help organize your messages as well as filing messages in these folders and navigating between your various folders. It also covers how to delete a folder when you no longer need it. Play time: 3 min 25 sec.
Using Options to Customize WebMail. This video demonstrates how to display the message headers of emails, change the message body display to monospaced font, and add a signature message. Also included is how to set preferences for the number of messages to display per page, the number of messages to be retained in your Deleted folder, and the number of days to save messages in your Sent Mail Folder. Lastly, you will see how to change the WebMail template. Play time: 8 min 42 sec.
Using Order and Search Features in WebMail. This video demonstrates two features that will help you find messages quickly and organize your email. You will see how to order your messages within a folder by date, sender and status. You will also see how to search for a message using the sender (FROM) or a key word anywhere in the message, as well as setting date and folder parameters for the search. Play time: 3 min 50 sec.
Setting Mail Forwarding, Autoreply Message, and Mail Routing. This video demonstrates how to set an address to have your email forwarded to another account, how to set an autoreply message to notify senders that you won't be checking your account for a specified period of time (great for vacations, spring break, and between semesters), and how to have your mail routed to another email account bypassing your UT email account completely.
