NetID "Show Me" Files

The NetID "show me" files allow you to watch videos that demonstrate step by step instructions for determining your NetID and password, changing your password, and changing your online directory information.

What's your NetID? Your NetID and password are important because they allow you access to many University of Tennessee services. This video demonstrates how to locate your NetID in the UT Online Directory. Approximate play time: 2.10 minutes.

What is your Initial NetID Password and How to Change It . It is important to change your password to make your accounts more secure. This video demonstrates the steps needed to change your password, shows you how to determine what your intial NetID password is and covers the requirements and tips for choosing your new password. Approximate play time: 3.30 minutes.

Editing your Online Directory Information. You can add to and change information that is available for others to see in the UT Online Directory. This video demonstrates how to create email aliases, add additional information such as your office contact information, pager and mobile numbers, and web site address. Approximate play time: 4.05 minutes.

Where can you use your NetID? Below are links to several University services where your NetID is required for access.

There are two ways you can use the videos. First, you can watch them, then access your NetID account and make the desired changes. Alternatively, you can complete the steps while watching the video by using the Pause button on the video player. All videos do include sound so you may need a headset to hear the audio in the labs.
