UT's E-mail Software -- Tmail
Tmail is Microsoft Outlook Web Access.
To take advantage of all the features and
functionality, it is recommended that you
use it with Internet Explorer. Go to (http://
tmail.utk.edu). You will find some great
features in Tmail that weren’t available in
previous e-mail software. One example is:
on the login screen, you have some radio
buttons below the log in. Under Client,
the Premium client allows ALL the Tmail
options. Basic limits the options, but is
faster. Under Security, selecting Public
or shared computer logs you off after a
few minutes of inactivity. This is what you
should select when you are in a public
lab. Private computer allows you to have
a longer period of inactivity before being
automatically logged off. This is the
selection you will want to make when you
are working from home. Note that you will
want to turn off “Pop up blocker” for this
Web site, as you will receive a pop up prior
to sending an e-mail message.
On the Tmail log-in screen (http://tmail.
utk.edu) you will need to enter your NetID
and password and click the “Log On”
button.
