Computing Labs

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) maintains many computing facilities across the UT campus. To use one of these labs, use your NetID and Password and log on to a machine.

Staffed Computer Labs

The following labs are staffed. See the map on the inside back cover of this booklet for specific locations of labs. The hours listed below are the standard spring/fall lab hours. (They will vary slightly during the semesters and breaks and summer.) For a complete listing of computing lab locations, hours, hardware, and software go to: (http://oit.utk.edu) and click on the “Labs” button. All or portions of the Humanities, Art Dept., and Perkins labs may be in use for class instruction, so you may benefit from calling in advance to see if the lab you are interested in is available.

Computing Store Lab

There is a lab in the University Center. While this is not an OIT lab (meaning some of the rules may be slightly different than in an OIT lab), it is convenient and available to all students. The machines in this lab are configured differently from the OIT labs.
