Your Web PageCreating a Web Page / Opening a UNIX AccountMany classes currently require students to have their own Web pages. To have a Web page, you must have a UNIX account, for which you can apply and register at the following location: http://accounts.utk.edu/register. Directions on how to accomplish this are included in The Float Chart section of this book. Students can register for classes on how to create Web pages by going to the following Web page: http://web.utk.edu/~training. These classes are free for UT students. Web OptionsTo create your own personal Web page, from WebMail (http://webmail.utk.edu), select “Account Management Tool,” then select “Manage Your Web site” and “log in.” Here you will be able to review the status of your Web site, and create, edit, and download Web pages. Several “help” links provide information on building Web pages. Many links can also be found in the Collegiate Surfing section of this book. How to Increase Your Disk SpaceYou are given 100 megabytes of disk space for your UNIX account. If you need additional disk space, it can be applied for from the WebMail home page (http://webmail.utk.edu), Click “OIT Account Management,” then click “Manage Your UNIX Account,” then “Quota.” An additional 100 megabytes of space costs $25.00 per year. ![]() |
